Seventeen years and counting, Dubai held its annual airshow. The Dubai Airshow 2021, which took place earlier this month at the Dubai World Center (DWC), from November 14 – 18, was the only live, aeronautical event held this year that had actual people there, who interacted face to face. It featured the most advanced aircraft in the world.
IAI in Dubai
For the first time ever, in an unprecedented happening, Booth 300 at the show was occupied and operated by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). This is another step towards Israel’s expansion of its strategic partnerships in the region. Some possibilities are:
- The United Arab Emirate’s Etihad Engineering
- Bahrain’s Gulf Air
From the Previous Year
Israel Aircraft Industries exibited in:
- Dubai CyberTech
- IAC Dubai
An Israeli business lawyer is an essential part of all events, to make sure all affairs and documents are in order. Attorney at Law, David Page, in Jerusalem, Israel, is a lawyer with a history of success and licensed in Israel and abroad.
Not Everything Runs Smoothly
On October 5, 2021, an Israeli was arrested at a Dubai apartment where 500 kg (1,100 pounds) of cocaine had been stashed. The suspect denies any wrongdoing and his Israeli lawyer is working hard to get him back to Israel, where his prison sentence would be long but still shorter than in the United Arab Emirates and Dubai.
The police in Dubai impounded pure cocaine, valued at over $136 million. An international drug syndicate is suspected but there is no doubt that an Israeli business lawyer in Dubai is critical.
On a Happier Note
For the past couple of years, some Israelis have booked their venues in Dubai for weddings, where they were able to congregate 200 people, compared to the lockdowns and severe pandemic restrictions in Israel. They travel with their guests, orthodox rabbis and quorums to meet all the requirements of Jewish law for such ceremonies and events.
An Israeli deployed there, who works for the Israeli embassy, also gave birth to her daughter there and the embassy of Israel issued the newborn her Israeli passport. No doubt, the embassy has Israeli business lawyers in Dubai.
Joint Space Mission
Israel and the United Arab Emirates have drawn up a space agreement that will make history, where both parties, in this case countries, will cooperate on Israel’s Beresheet 2 mission. Beresheet 2 is set to be launched in 2024 and will cost approximately $100 million.
Israeli and Emirate students will collaborate to build a satellite and also work on research and development from the Israeli-French satellite named Venus. This is the latest in the thriving and flourishing relationship between the Emirates and Israel, just a year after the monumental signing of the treaty commonly called the Abraham Accords.
Israeli business lawyers in Dubai have much work ahead. Six major deals in the following areas have been drawn up:
Many more are expected to be announced shortly. There will be endless opportunities for Israeli business lawyers and Dubai.
